What happens with an initial consultation?
During the initial consultation we'll walk around your garden and discuss how you use it; what you want from it and the styles you're most interested in. It's the best time to lay the foundations for a garden that relates to you and your needs. If you've seen any styles you like or features you must have, now's the time to share them with us. The more information you can give us now, the more accurate our proposal and concept plans will be. Photo's of gardens you like; colours and plants that compliment your property; is the garden the social hub for your family and friends?
We'll discuss who uses the garden; your priorities and potential layout ideas. Consider your house or any plans you have for it and how we can create a space that will feel like a part of your home.
Do I need a garden designer?
The space around your property should be an extension of your home; encouraging you outdoors to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature in your own private paradise. A garden designer can take your thoughts and ideas and organise them to realise the full potential of your garden and to ensure you're making the best use of your space. Whether you need inspiration to finalise your ideas, or are overwhelmed by what to do, a garden designer can guide you and add those finishing touches you may never consider. From creating technically accurate plans for your landscapers to work from to planting plans that will grow into the space correctly; their experience and knowledge will make the whole process easier and ensure the finished garden is how it should be.

How long does the design process take?
A cosy courtyard focussing on plants or a large estate with outbuildings and swimming pools... an average garden takes around 8-12 weeks to design if communication is prompt between the design stages.
We'll always deliver our proposal as quickly as possible, then if you want to proceed we can give a more accurate timescale for the following stages. Once we have a survey of the garden we'll aim to get your concept plan to you within 2-6 weeks (depending on size and complexity).

How much will it cost?
Similar to timescales, this is dependent on your project and scale of work. Following our initial consultation we’ll supply a breakdown of each stage; it's cost and timescale. Design fees start at around £720.

Can I work in stages?
It’s common for the work in your garden to be broken down into phases. We'll design the garden as a whole then identify which areas are priorities and create a plan which works coherently for the landscaper and will give you as much impact as possible for each stage.

Do you build the gardens?
Whilst we don't build the gardens, we have built up good relationships with trusted local landscapers. We're happy to put you in touch. We can be involved through the build if you wish; we offer a build monitoring service.

Do I need a survey?
To make the most of the space around your property a survey is vital. It allows us to understand the environment we're working with; from the gradient of the garden to the heights of existing trees. A survey will allow us to see the garden in total and how it relates to the dimensions of your property. A survey means the design will truly represent the space and allows accuracy when it comes to materials and costings.
